Yeah, I've been grooving on some old school style RPGs lately. There are lots of them out there, but here are some of my favorites:
Dark Dungeons (D&D Rules Cyclopedia + Tweaks) [Free]

Dragon Warriors (United Kingdom D&D-like RPG) [Pay]

Castles & Crusades (Rules-lite 3rd Edition with old school feel) [Pay]

Labyrinth Lord (Basic & Expert D&D) [Free]

Lamentations of the Flame Princess (Close to LL, but different with a different vibe) [Free & Pay]

Swords & Wizardry (OD&D) [Free]

If I had to pick my favorite retro-clone I would choose a Labyrinth Lord Core, and use the rest of the games as optional rules that I could bolt onto the system. I like that LL is so rules-lite, and that it is easy to add onto it as I see fit. They provide 1st edition options but still keep the simple core mechanics.
They put out the text files, which makes it easy to put your house rules right into the document. (http:///smile.gif)http://goblinoidgames.com/ogclibrary.html

If you like storygames and retro-clones, try also Old School Hack (http://www.oldschoolhack.net/ (http://www.oldschoolhack.net/" class="bbcode_url)), it's a very low-prep game and it mix an od&d feel with "modern" ideas (http:///wink.gif)

I've seen threads for it on RPG.net but I haven't read up on it. I have a friend that might like that a lot (he's a militant Story Gamer). (http:///smile.gif)
