I seems to recall some post about height of character but I can't seems to find it and I remember it was anwsered around the line that it could be figured quite easily.
My question tho is... I tend to play in really fantastic and highly epic setting and having just read "The Children of Húrin" I feel a bit nostalgic. I'm just a fan of Tolkien what can I say! I know it is probably the thing that the GM would decide himself what is the height of a race of not and what would be the absolute range for this or that race. But keeping question about this book that would be, is Novus are height absolute ? What or which stats make some human be 5'4" or 6'4" ? Is it STR+CON like I think now or something along those line ?
I hope you understand me better than what I'm re-reading myself before posting LOL

Novus gives the average heights - not absolutes.
And personally, I don't think that stats should be part of determining height, as a character could be strong and very healthy and still be short. (http:///bigsmile.gif)

I've never thought of using Stats to account for height, but I know BRP has a stat called Size that seems to account for that. It is also the one stat that gets a lot of discussion about it in that game.
That being said, there's nothing from you making your own house rules for such thing. Just make up a new chart and give bonuses to height based on what their stats are. Maybe even low stats subtract from it as well.

Very true

would you go so far to say that a human could have a 6'10" or 4'6" ? or a dwarf to be 5'5" ? (I know I could just do what I want about race and their attribute but I wanted your input to how far and free we can be as GM and/or player)
-
Sure. But, I would say that the final decision is up to the GM - based on what is possible for the setting that he is running. I can easily see some human cultures where the average height is in the 6'-7' range and others where height averages 4'6" to 5'.
The same for Dwarves having the occasional individual who is a bit taller than the norm, though if he is too tall, you might want to give him a "Giantism" talent to account for that size increase.

Or call him "Human" (http:///smile.gif)BTW, I like the idea of a giant dwarf. I am not sure of the term in English though: oxymoron ? This could be the name of this race.

Hilarous. You questioning your english about the word "oxymoron" is IMO an "oxymoron"
