Thought about it but never actually get down to it. I may try something some other day but not soon.

Tried it on my laptop using edge for the same result. The download produces a jpeg file and not a pdf as it should. Am I alone in that case?

Cool background. One of my players used to play a Dwelf. All the others were making fun of him for being an unlikely crossbreed between a DWarf and an ELF. Lots of fun in an otherwise dark story.

There’s probably a problem with this link. Each time I click on it I get a 63ko file with the main page.

Or you have the Schrödinger version. The fumble is undetermined unless there is someone aware of it.  ;D

Hello Giovanni.
I guess you won’t be breaking anything if you use 1d20 instead of 2d10. Dice results will fall under the same range although not under the same distribution. Results with 2d10 tend to me more dense around  the average whereas 1d20 as a linear distribution. Basically you will have extreme results more often with 1d20.
Regarding your propositions, keep in mind that every result on 1d20 has the same probability of occurrence which is 5%. Fumbles under FX rules happen on a double-1 which occurs only with a 1% probability. Fumbling on a 1 or 2 as you propose makes characters fumble 10% of their rolls. A bit high I think but it’s up to you.
Same thing with the exploding dice. Dice explode on natural 19 or 20 in FX which is 3% or possible rolls. The same range with 1d20 occurs 10% of times.
Using 1d20 with special results on 1 or 20 would be closer to the rules as written. What you propose will end up with 20% of rolls qualifying either for a fumble or an exploding roll. If it works for you, that’s fine.

Seems good to me.

My only concern is that this move seems better used with a weapon you can set in the ground with is as far as I can tell a polearm: pole is set in the ground, business end is aiming at the incoming foe with minute changes still possible. Long enough swords or battle axes with a head spike could be braced against a wall for example but would be hard to maneuver.

But what if the charger is a barbarian with a battle axe?
So long as there is a charging opponent and a dug-in defender so to speak, it should work.

I think it should be limited to long piercing weapons like polearms.
As Dimirag said, set against an attack means you are ready to receive it, usually with your weapon set into the ground to use ten enemy’s momentum against himself. You can set a polearm against a cavalry charge for example or a spear against a charging boar.
In my mind it is not a quick attack and should require time to anticipate the incoming attack and prepare for it. So I would suggest to make it a full action, including the preparation and the attack. Then you get the +2 and the bonus from the enemy’s charge but you cannot parry as your weapon is basically stuck.
That way you get a big bonus to attack (and to initiative or auto initiative for longer weapon) but if you miss…
