Hranulf is your typical Dwarf stalwart: strong, enduring, immeasurably brave… and not too bright. Well, it is not that he is dumb, not at all. He could even be quite quick to learn fighting tricks. But he does not like to tackle with complex things except to simplify them, usually with his trusted hammer Gongrim.

Maybe someone hesitated whether he should be an apprentice to the Weaponsmith Guild. He did not. He ran as swiftly as he can to join the Steel Shields, the stalwart defenders of his native underground city of Kard-Shok. He soon became a distinguished member of this valiant company, hard to the task and happy that someone oversaw everything, taking the thinking into account and leaving Hranulf free just to do things.

Sadly, a few weeks ago, after an awfully long trek in uncharted underground tunnels, it happened that they ran into a pack of unnatural creatures, undeads with a marrow-chilling presence. His detachment was scattered to the four corners of the underground necropolis. After a protracted fight, he got separated from the rest of the troop, got lost and eventually ended outside, near a small town.

Nothing seemed familiar in this surrounding, but soon he met a group of friendly people, one of them especially welcoming, a tall man named Cuellain.
