Combat Moves/Styles Handout?

Hi Tim,

What would you think about producing a player/GM handout for Combat Moves/Styles? I think it would be immensely handy for reference in-play, sort of like what's in the Appendix for Boons/Snags. Does anyone use anything like this in their own campaign?

That is a possibility. I can easily see formatting the Combat Moves into a easy to read table for the most part, and then just add short notes regarding how the move operates (leaving the player/GM to refer to the core rules for more detailed information).

Yes, that's exactly the sort of thing I had in mind! Just something for them to reference in-game so they aren't thumbing through the book.

Perhaps, also, a blank Combat Move sheet, similar to the one I did for spells, to allow a player to write down his known Combat Moves, so that he can have them handy.....

oh!!! Another idea!

Perhaps I could do up something similar to cards, that a player could print out on Card stock and then cut out, to allow the player to keep them handy like a deck....

Oh, and I could do up cards for common actions (and have a couple that require the player to explain the action in some manner.... They could then be used for action declaration... (i.e. every puts their action cards face down in front of them at the same time, then flip them over on their Init turn, and resolve at that point.... (note: this is similar to the Savage Arena game idea I once did some initial design on)

Ooh! I like the sound of that! The full sheet of moves might be handy for GMs, but not a bad idea for the players...

yup, though if I ever did the card idea, I think that I would need to charge for that since it would involve a good bit of work, the blank sheet would be a freebie, and so would the summary sheet...

That would make sense, definitely.
