I ran a variation of that adventure for my kids (10 & where the Goblins kidnapped "Jafry" to help them make their rock soup taste better because he knew the secret of spices. We reached a non-violent conclusion to the story LOL
Cool!
In this adventure, Jafry is actually a bit of an herbalist prodigy, and thus was scouring the woods for herbs. He isn't allowed out overnight without one of his older cousins accompanying him.
Tek Heliyg has dreams of becoming a fearsome bandit, and realizes that he needs somebody to take the loot into town, and is thinking that he can "re-educate" Jafry to be his servant/aide, and to work as his agent in a town. HIs four Goblins are his start on this, as they have robbed a few travellers so far, and then they found the cave and decided to use it as a base (they lost one Goblin to the Giant Ants already, and that is how they learned that they can kinda train the Ants to leave them alone by providing them food.....
Then they spotted Jafry in the woods, and Tek had his brainstorm and grabbed the kid to teach him how to become a pawn....
Unfortunately, things have not been going as well as he thought they would. The kid is being stubborn and not accepting his teachings. Tek is also smart enough to realize that if he hurts the kid, his chances of converting him over to his side will go way down......
