Are there going to be any monks or other kind of Martial Artist type class in Novus ? If so , wil they be in the main book or as a supplement ? How will
martial arts be handled in Novus ?

The core rules already contain Martial Arts.

Martial Arts is listed as one of the Combat Skills and if you look at the Combat Moves, for Unarmed Combat, you can see that just having the Martial Arts skill increases the damage done slightly.

There is also the Advanced Martial Arts Training Talent, which gives the character the abilities of the Advanced Martial Arts Combat Style (and uses the Martial Arts skill).

Now, there will not be a Monk or Martial Artist in the core rules, but they will be added in a later supplement, along with rules for Weapon Katas (these will be very simple - small CP cost and you can use the weapon with your MA attacks, adding their damage to your MA damage).

I agree with this. Keep it stupid simple. Rules don't need to be complicated to allow a GM to handle complex situations.
As for weapon katas, maybe they could give the ability to change the type of damages (eg. slashing damages with a sword) along with the boost in damage ?

Thanks Rasyr,

I have yet to read through the PDF as I don't have a computer at home right now. So I'll have to read it in small bits when I can get to the library. So I wasn't sure if they were included as it wasn't mentioned in the brief description on the main page discussing Novus's combat.
