Declaring/Resolving Actions

Okay, it has been brought to my attention that some gamers may not like the Declare and Resolve phases of the round being separate phases.

Thus, I am starting this poll to get a wider range of opinions.

Personally, I think keeping them separate is good, because it allows for the actions of characters to affect one another to a good degree - allowing the faster characters to react to the actions of the slower characters.

However, on the other side of the coin, such a resolution system is a bit slower overall, and declaring and resolving at the same time would be quicker and simpler overall.

What I want to know is your preferences, and whether or not you think it should be changed.

I would stick with the original design.
That way, the character with the highest initiative may know his opponent intent but not the way it the action will end. That's enough to help him decide his course of action without making him omniscient. I think it's a good balance.

I prefer realism and the cinematic qualities of players sometimes undermining one another's actions.  So even for our d20 games, we kept declare and resolve separate (and in fact you had to jot your action down before declaring it) - that was to keep people later in the initiative (the slow ones, in fact) from having extra choices and changing their actions based on ones that occurred before them.

So in my opinion, combining the declare and resolve steps makes that problem worse, and I would much rather they be distinct as the main rule.
