Combat and spellcasting

Hi!

After doing a few mock battles, I have some questions. I tried some characters against a Giant Ant. Even though the Ant is only level 1, its AR was just too tough for the Archer and he was bitten to death in only a few rounds. I must say that the Archer was not maxed up in his weapons, but an AR of 10 may be a little too much for a 1st level creature. On the other hand, the Fighter had it easy with a lucky roll doing half of its Hit points in one strike. [...] I just remembered that I also tried both characters against that same Ant and the Archer firing at a distance into melee couldn't do damage to the beast, partly because of the negative modifier. Is there any strategy in the best way to use an Archer in a combat situation?

Now for the questions!

1. If a creature/monster doesn't have weapons (only natural ones), does it use the Unarmed Combat Moves and/or the Melee ones?

2. If after an Attack Roll the AB is negative, does the character earn Snag points?

3. For offensive spells like Infernal Bolt, does the target's AR reduce the damage inflicted?

Thanks!
